Mixing and mastering
Mixing and mastering services on a real console, from anywhere.
We mix with our ears, not our eyes. Send us your stems and we'll build something that sounds like the vision you had in your head all along, on a hybrid analog and digital chain, by the same engineer behind every song in the archive. $250 a song mixed and mastered, $100 a song mastered.

Mixing and mastering was MidWav before MidWav had a live room. Every song starts with a conversation about references and the sound you're hearing in your head. Then it gets built by hand on the Toft Audio Designs Series ATB console with Neve Portico 2 and UA pre-amps, a Manley Vari-Mu, an LA-2A and an Empirical Labs Distressor, monitored on PMCs and checked on NS-10s, because if it works on NS-10s it works everywhere.
You don't need to set foot in Texas. Upload your stems, review mixes from wherever you are, and get streaming-ready masters back. And if you're close enough to drive up, you're welcome to pull up a chair and hear it on the big monitors.

How it works
How online mixing and mastering works at MidWav.
Stems in, record out. Four steps, and most songs are done inside two revision rounds.
- 01Send your stems
Upload your session exports and a couple of reference tracks. If you're unsure how to bounce stems, we'll walk you through it.
- 02We mix and master
Balanced, shaped and glued on the analog chain until it sounds like the record you imagined, with every element where it should be.
- 03Two revision rounds
You listen everywhere you normally listen. We adjust. Two rounds are included, and most songs don't need both.
- 04Release-ready delivery
LUFS-optimized for Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music, plus WAV, MP3 and DDP for CD. Albums get sequencing and spacing.

Mastering and stem mastering
Mastering, $100 a song.
Mastering is the final polish on a finished mix: overall tone, loudness and consistency, so the song translates on every speaker and every platform. Bring a stereo mix and it comes back ready for streaming and CD, with album sequencing and spacing when there's more than one song.
Stem mastering is available when a stereo master can't fix what the mix left behind. Working from grouped stems (drums, bass, vocals, everything else) gives us room to rebalance without a full remix. Ask about it when you reach out.

Your engineer
The same mixing and mastering engineer behind every song in the archive.
Every record on this site, the singles, the album cuts, the songs artists drove hours to make, was mixed or mastered by the same in-house engineer who'll handle yours. The credit list is a player full of finished songs you can press play on right now.
Pricing
Mixing and mastering rates, flat per song.
You pay per song you finish. Two revision rounds are included on every mix and master.
Questions
Mixing and mastering questions, answered.
What's the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing is where the individual tracks of a song (vocals, drums, guitars, everything) get balanced, EQ'd and shaped into one cohesive stereo mix. Mastering is the final polish on that finished mix: overall tone, loudness and consistency, so the song translates on every speaker and every platform. At MidWav you can book them together at $250 per song from your stems, or mastering on its own at $100 per song.
What are stems, and do you offer stem mastering?
Stems are grouped exports of your session, for example one file for drums, one for bass, one for vocals and one for everything else. Yes, we offer stem mastering. Working from stems gives us more control to fix balance issues the mix left behind than a single stereo file does. If you're unsure how to export stems, we'll walk you through it.
Do I have to be in Texas to work with you?
No. Mixing and mastering is delivered online: you send files, we send masters. Artists anywhere can upload stems, review mixes from home and get streaming-ready files back. Being 30 minutes from San Antonio just means local artists can also sit in on the session if they want to.
How many revisions are included?
Two rounds of revisions are included on every mix and master. Most songs land inside those two rounds because we start with a real conversation about references and the sound you're chasing.
What formats do you deliver?
LUFS-optimized masters for Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music, plus WAV, MP3 and DDP for CD runs. Album projects get sequencing and spacing so the record plays as one piece.
How much does mixing and mastering cost?
At MidWav, mixing and mastering together is $250 per song from your stems, with two revision rounds included. Mastering on its own is $100 per song. A song recorded, mixed and mastered here start to finish is $800.
How do I send files?
Send the booking form or call, and we'll tell you where to send the files. WAV stems at the session's sample rate, with a rough mix and one or two reference songs, is the ideal package.
Send a project
Ready to hear your song finished?
Send us a rough mix or just tell us about the project. We'll talk references and timeline and get you a date.
